The issue has now been resolved and emails to external providers are now being correctly sent.

Investigating

Websites hosted on UBC CMS platform are currently experiencing an issue sending email to non-UBC email addresses. UBC CMS and UBC IT email teams are investigating. Email sent from CMS sites to UBC email addresses are not impacted.
