Disabling Windows Wi-Fi Hotspot Feature on UBC IT Managed Computers - May 1, 2025, 14:00-14:30 PT

To address a security risk identified by the UBC Wireless team, UBCIT Desktop Services Architecture and Development (DS A&D), in consultation with the UBC Cybersecurity team, will soon implement a change to the group policy settings for all UBC IT DS-managed Windows devices. As a result, the Windows Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot feature will be automatically disabled when devices are connected to UBC networks.

No user action is required.
