Scheduled - University Computer Management System (UCMS) Maintenance for Apple devices (Jamf Pro) will be undergoing routine maintenance on September 14, 2024, 00:00-13:00 PT. During this time Apple devices will not be able to contact the server for updates, however no disruption to use of Apple devices is expected.

UBC IT will perform network maintenance at the UBC Vancouver and Okanagan campuses on September 15, 2024, 10:00-17:00 PT. During the upgrade, there will be no impact on end users as we have redundancy in place.

The UBC Satellite service will not be available on September 16, 2024, 09:00-15:00 PT due to service maintenance.

The Red Hat Satellite service provides errata and software updates to all registered Red Hat Linux systems. The service will be unavailable during the maintenance window. Users will be unable to register systems with the service, install software, or patches hosted by the service.

Satellite Organization administrators should review the release notes to ensure their organization is not adversely affected by API or other changes in functionality:

On September 16, 2024, 18:00-23:00 PT, UBC IT will perform system maintenance on the UBC Faculty and Staff Email (FASmail) and the Student and Alumni Mail (SAM) Service. No user impact is anticipated during the maintenance window.

The Appian UBC Appian PRD site will be offline during the maintenance window on September 18, 2024, 22:00-23:59 PT.

On October 2, 2024, 10:00-12:00 PT, UBC IT will be implementing additional security measures to protect UBC from malicious email messages. Any mail server that is not authorized to use a FASmail domain to send email will be rejected. This change will augment existing measures that are already in place.
