On May 19, 2021 10:00 - 11:00 PT, UBC IT will be implementing an overnight rate limit for external outbound email messages for FASmail mailboxes. Accounts that exceed the message limit will be queued and delivered during the business day.

UBC IT will conduct network maintenance on May 29, 2021 from 09:00-19:00 PT and May 30, 2021 from 09:00-19:00 PT at all UBC Faculty of Medicine sites province-wide (view the complete list here: Clinical Academic Campuses and Affiliated Regional Centres ).

During this outage, the following services will be impacted:
- Video conferencing in Faculty of Medicine academic learning spaces will be unavailable
- Eduroam wireless internet will be intermittent

Faculty of Medicine faculty, staff, and stakeholders have been notified of this scheduled maintenance. Please contact medit.servicedesk@ubc.ca if further details are needed.

During this time, users will not be able to log in to their My Library accounts, which means that renewals, recalls, ASRS and online fines payment will not be available.

The online catalogue is available for searching, but the information on Library holdings is not refreshed. Users will still be able to borrow items at circulation counters.

Scheduled - Network maintenance is being performed at the Frank Forward, Coal And Mineral Processing Laboratory, Owl at The Barn child care and Wood Products Laboratory Buildings to facilitate upgrades as part of the Network Switch Replacement Program. During this service window from Thursday, May 6th 19:00 - Friday, May 7th 06:00 PDT; network services will be interrupted as the network user ports are migrated to the new switching infrastructure, and the connectivity is verified.

On this date, UBC will be implementing a 90-day data retention schedule affecting the MS Teams Chat feature. This does not impact conversations hosted within a Teams channel. The implementation of Data Retention Schedules is required in compliance with UBC Records Management policies and requirements (hxxps://recordsmanagement.ubc.ca/schedules/).

Update - UBC IT continues to work with Shaw Communications to investigate and rectify the service issue affecting outbound calls from the UBC Hospital. Callers are experiencing fast busy signals when attempting to call certain cell phones.

Investigating - UBC IT is currently investigating an issue affecting the UBC Voice service where callers are receiving fast busy signals when trying to call some cell phones. Inbound calls from these same cell phones are unaffected. Technicians are working with our vendor to investigate this issue.
