Investigating - UBC Vancouver Network Intermittent Download Issues, April 11, 2025, 12:00 PT

Some users are reporting intermittent issues with downloading large files on UBC Vancouver networks. In some cases downloads may just stop mid-download, and not complete.

UBC IT technicians are still investigating. Anyone encountering this problem can try using the resume/restart download functionality within the web browsers to work around the issue (if the browser has this option).

The next update will be at 08:00 PT on April 14.

Monitoring - UBC IT has worked with its vendors and the inbound calling issue to non-VoiP UBC phones has been resolved as of 17:57. Technicians will continue to monitor the Voice service for stability through the weekend.

Investigating - Callers dialing in to UBC's non-VoIP phone numbers may experience a dropped call or be presented with a message that the number they are dialing could not be reached. The issue is intermittent, and redialing the UBC phone number may result in a successful connection.

All outgoing calls are not affected. Incoming calls to VoIP phones/numbers are also not affected.

UBC IT technicians are engaged with the vendor and they are actively working to resolve the issue.

Investigating - A few course sections that were visible on the Final Grades Submission Tool (FGST) yesterday are currently missing. UBC IT technicians are working to identify affected courses and sections, and to restore them, including any grades saved or submitted. These grades are safe and were not lost. We are monitoring the restoration process and will update this page as we learn more.
Grades can continue to be entered for any course sections still visible on FGST, and any grades entered will be secure.
